November 16, 2009 - Foot Village: Anti-Magic Pro-Creation tour merchandise available at Andergrond!
Foot Village lit up the Melkweg in Amsterdam last week and I had the pleasure to participate in the holy Anti-Magic/Pro-Creation JAM that occurred. Was the crowd receptive to my friends? I think so. Deep down everyone wished to strip off their human clothes and form a rhythmic body pile doused in Heineken. But we’re just not there yet as a species.
The sub-music community Foot Village is a part of in the states is well supported by the people therein. Foot Village is loud and aggressive in a beautiful way. A very special band in this current time of art simulation.
Foot Village is Brian Miller, Josh Taylor-Fantastic, Grace Lee, and Dan. Brian Miller, also of Deathbomb Arc, was happy to share merchandise with Andergrond. A Limited 7″ Foot Village / 60-watt kid split and 2009 Foot Village Anti-Magic cd are now available at the shop.

This was a tip from a friend… Keith Kawai a Dayton, Ohio based composer / musician, making almost proglike, horror/sci-fi soundtracks. Grainy sounding and almost with an Lightning bolt hyperactivity.. Further similarities i would say with some of the Mike PAtton stuff, but more sincere and oddly bizarre i would say.. Especially his vision on dissonance is one of mine..
“I think the average listener is well on their way to hearing and accepting dissonance as another simple musical spice; another tool to grab emotion, but not one that scares everyone off like it used to. Like, horror movies dont pack the punch they used to? When all these previously nasty sounds are swallowed up my mainstream sensibilities, the only remaining dissonance will be a cultural one, brought on in part by tactics that completely subvert a listeners expectations. I believe the actual sound of recordings is more important than ever right now. With so many tools available to the general, musically inclined public, the sound you choose to represent is a very conscious decision, as important as the notes you’re playing.”
