Sonic Bonk is a zine made & published by Drippy bone books

Drippy Bone Books is a publishing project run by artists Kristy Foom, Mario Zoots, and Keenan Marshall Kellar out of Amsterdam, Denver and Los Angeles. We release underground art and comic books, and promote the distribution of art multiples. The name Drippy Bone Books was inspired by the comic Oops Goops drawn by David Magdelano and Brian Bamps of Los Angeles. Editions are curated by a single person and worked on by the group. We print on copy machines and assemble by hand. A typical edition is under 50 copies, sometimes as few as 10. Distribution relies heavily on a strong network of underground ‘dealers’. Some books such as Sonic Bonk and Bronze Legs, have been printed in unique editions since 2007 without edition numbers, under a single title, as an ongoing curatorial project. We like the wit and beauty of theft, reproduction, and the weird, and so we print a lot of appropriation and weirdo illustration. But it’s the dawn of 2010, and we’re tapping into new contemporary feelings so upcoming publications will include landscape photography and sculptural projects. There is always endless possibility in the future.
